Hakuna Matata!!!

Yesterday, Phillip and I went into London for the day. We went to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guards. We got lucky – it was an important day at the Palace! There was a party to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. (We originally thought the party was for her husband, whose birthday was the day before. However, reports online tell that it was for her birthday, which was in April, but they always celebrate late because of bad weather in April. I don’t know, but it made for a more interesting day for us!) We got to see the Queen!!! We also got to see Kate and Camilla arriving in a horse drawn carriage. We realized later that Prince William and Prince Charles were riding horses, so we saw them too! We are almost positive that we have a pretty decent picture of them! (You can’t really tell in the picture that it’s them, but it seems to match pictures/descriptions online, so we think it’s them!) It was neat! (Standing for over an hour, in a huge crowd of people, on my tip toes half the time just so I could see a little better totally wore me out – but it was still neat!!!)

We think that's Prince William on the gray horse on the left and his father, Prince Charles, next to him on the black horse. The Queen is standing at the podium (blue dress).

Then in the afternoon, we went to see The Lion King musical at Lyceum Theatre. We were in the 2nd to last row, so we were way high up there, but the ticket prices jumped big time for each section closer, so we bought the cheapest ones possible. We could see just fine from where we were anyway! It was absolutely amazing!!!!! I think I smiled throughout the whole musical. The costumes were incredible!!!! The set was fascinating – I have no idea how they get the floor to disappear and reappear with so many different things. The singing was great – they have amazing voices! The whole thing was just fantastic!!!! I just can’t describe how good it was! It’s hard to believe it was even real! Unfortunately, we couldn’t take pictures during the performance, but we did get a couple pictures inside the theatre before it started. What a great day!!! Here is a link where you can watch a short (2 minute) video from the performance. Scroll down a little, under the big picture on the left side. You will see a “sneak peak” video. Click the play button (triangle) to start the video. If it gets stuck, click pause (2 lines) and let it load for a couple minutes. Then click play again and it should work. http://lyceum-theatre.co.uk/

Hakuna Matata!!!! (For those of you who don’t know what that means, you need to watch The Lion King! It means NO WORRIES!!!)
