Shrek Musical and Ultrasound Update!!!

Saturday, Phillip and I spent the day in London. We were hoping to get tickets to the Shrek musical for that afternoon, but it was sold out online and in all of the little vendor places. We had heard that you can sometimes get good deals on leftover tickets at the actual box office the day of the show. The box office opened at 10:00 and we were there about 5 minutes later. Sure enough, they had tickets in each price range. We assumed all along that we’d get the cheapest tickets…25 pounds in the back part of the balcony. But they were selling the floor seats (regular 65 pounds) for 30 pounds! So we decided to go for it! We bought our tickets for the show (for 3:00 that afternoon) and then headed back to the subway station to go to Camden Market.

Camden Market was a really neat place! It has tons and tons of outdoor shops, restaurants, craft booths, etc. Pretty much everything you can imagine, plus more! We enjoyed walking around looking at everything! We couldn’t believe all the different things there! It was also a beautiful day, which made it nice to be outside! We actually wore short sleeves and didn’t even take coats or sweatshirts with us – I think that was the first time we’ve been able to do that! I got Chinese bang bang chicken, on top of sweet and sour veggies and noodles for lunch. I had tried a sample of the bang bang chicken and it was seriously the best ever! Delicious!!!! After lunch, we walked around a little longer and then headed back to take the Subway to Shrek!

We were pleasantly surprised when we found our seats at the Shrek musical! We had FRONT ROW SEATS!!!!! (They want the floor seats to be all sold out, which is why they sell them cheap the day of the show. They must start with the front row and work their way back. Since we were there right after they opened, we got lucky!) The theatre was huge! There were actually 3 balconies in this place. We would have been soooo far away if we had bought the cheap seats! From the front row, we could see every little detail on the costumes and the makeup. The costumes are fascinating!!! The show was amazing!!!! Everyone was so energetic and seemed like they were truly having a great time! What a fun day! Pictures aren’t allowed during the show, but you can copy and paste this link to see a video preview: http://www.shrekthemusical.co.uk/

After the musical, we took the train back to Slough and of course, went grocery shopping. We were home by 9:00 that night though, which is way better than last weekend! Phillip studied Sunday and I enjoyed reading my Nook!!!!!

We had an ultrasound and doctor appointment this morning at Wexham Park Hospital. (It’s so nice when the appointments are here and we just have a few minute walk to get there!!!) We got great news at the ultrasound!!!!! Baby Girl is head down now!!!! Hooray!!!

The appt went great, couldn't have asked for better!!! Baby's measurements all look fine, heart looks and sounds great! Doctor said she is right on track for our due date. Doctor also said she is not a big baby! (I was happy to hear that!!) They gave us charts to show her measurements. She is just barely above the 50% line for head and belly circumference, so right about average. Her femur length is around the 75% line. (Last ultrasound, all measurements were just barely above the 50% line, so she has grown longer in the last 4 weeks!

The doctor actually said that I am essentially "no risk." I've been told all along low risk, but hearing her say basically no risk really made me feel good. Looks like everything is just as it should be. (Thank you God!!!)

She said they will induce me at 10 days past my due date if we haven't had her yet. She also said they'd check me at 40 weeks to make sure she's still head down and everything. (Sounds like doctor is certainly not expecting Baby to arrive early!)

Our ultrasound pic is not very good at all, but we were happy just to get one! They don't really like giving out pictures here! Plus they say it's hard to get a decent picture, the farther along you are. So we weren't really even expecting to get one today. We liked seeing her little hand by her face. She was moving it around, almost like she was waving! Hehehe!
