I should have put the first 4 pictures in the last blog, but forgot about them. The first is a picture of the sunrise from our plane window. You can see that we’re above the clouds. Awesome! Then you can see Phillip getting our luggage down after we landed. I was trying to get the whole plane from side to side, but couldn’t get it all. There were 2 seats by the window, 3 in the middle, and 2 more by the other window. Huge plane! Then there’s a picture of all of our luggage! Thank goodness the airport had carts available to load the luggage onto!! The next is a picture of houses around our area. All of the houses are connected to each other!!!! How strange!!
Yesterday, we met Ricky around 11:00 and called for a taxi. The taxi picked us up here at the hospital and took us to the Slough train station. Ricky wanted to show us how to use the train station! We bought round trip tickets to Windsor and waited about 15 minutes for our train. My first UK train ride was fun! :-) We arrived in Windsor and just walked around for awhile first. Windsor castle is huge and amazing!!!! We went in a couple little shops too. One of them was a candy store. It was so neat! It reminded us of Bertie and Bott’s from Harry Potter. It seriously felt like we stepped into the movie! So cool! Then we went to lunch at The George Inn. It was good! Phillip and I each tasted Ricky’s lunch. We weren’t brave enough to get it, so he wanted us to try it. Bangers and mash! It’s a very popular meal here…sausage and mashed potatoes! It was actually pretty good! Maybe I’ll get brave and order it sometime! :-)
Then we went on a really long walk on a path straight down from the castle. This walking/jogging/biking trail is huge. There were so many people on it! It is surrounded by bright green fields on both sides. Absolutely beautiful! At the end of the path was a huge herd of what we think were red stag…some kind of deer. I tried to count them, but lost track at 200! I bet there were about 300 of them!!! Incredible! They were not fenced in, but wouldn’t let people get too close to them either. So cool!
After our long walk, we were freezing cold and tired, so decided to get hot chocolate in a little coffee shop. Perfect! Then we walked back to the train station and took the train back to Slough. The Slough train station is right by Tesco so we went in again and stocked up on groceries this time! We also got a few more things for our apartment. Then we called for a taxi, loaded up the taxi with everything, and headed back to our flat! Ricky was awesome and helped Phillip carry all our heavy stuff up to our apartment. (We’re on the 3rd floor by the way!) We fixed a quick dinner when we got home because we were starving!!!! We had a busy day, pretty much on the go nonstop from 11am-8pm! It was a fun day! We must have been worn out because we slept almost 12 hours again! Ha!
Love it!! Andy loves banger and mash! Great to talk to you today! I love my seeeester!
