Marigot Market

Phillip studied all day today, so we had to goof off without him! We went to Marigot this morning to see the Market! It poured while we were there! We hid out in a couple of stores during the hardest of the rain! Cheryl and Vicki got some beautiful garnet jewelry. The garnet was found here on our island! Neat!!! We came home for a late lunch, discovered the power was out, and decided to go to Subway instead! Phillip did join us for that, so it was a good break for him! We even got free refills at Subway today! (I’m really not sure if that’s a normal thing there or if she was just being nice today!!)

Vicki and I went to church in Philipsburg this evening! I was worried that the traffic may be awful again, so we left really early. Turns out, the traffic wasn’t too bad (I assume since it’s the weekend) and we got there 35 minutes before church started! Oops! So we walked around on Front Street for awhile before going inside. During church, a plastic bag blew in the door. (Doors and windows are all open at this church.) A guy quickly reached up in the air and grabbed it! It was very impressive! A bird also flew in and over our heads at one point, then up to the Alter! It was quite interesting! Vicki thought our church was funny! It is definitely different, that’s for sure! I absolutely love church here though!!

After church, we ordered pizza from Pizza Dan’s and then tasted our new rum flavors tonight! We tried the black cherry rum mixed with Sprite and the banana rum with orange juice! They’re both good, but the banana and OJ one is amazing! Yum!!

We were planning to take a ferry to Anguilla tomorrow, but thank goodness we decided to look up the weather since it was super rainy and windy today! There’s a tropical wave in the Caribbean, which is causing all this rain and wind! It could be stormy again tomorrow…not exactly an ideal day to be on a ferry!!!! So we’re putting that off till next weekend instead!
