Yesterday morning, Cheryl, Steve, and Vicki went to the pool while I studied a little. In the afternoon, we went to Marigot to go back to a store that they liked. They had good deals on perfume! We also stopped at Nettle Bay to look around. Vicki is almost positive that is where she and her cousin stayed when they were here in the 90’s! So it was neat to look around there! Then we went to Cost U Less and stocked up on chips! They had the boxes of individual size chips for $4.80. There are 50 bags in a box. Less than 10 cents a bag! Nice!!! (Ok, so that’s only because the sell by date is the 28th…but they’ll still be good for awhile after that! Phillip was pretty excited! We never buy stuff like that here!)
For dinner, we went to Tijuana Yacht Club. Thursday night is ladies’ night. I had been once before with friends, and they had free frozen margaritas…and about 10 different flavors! They were wonderful! Well…of course, ladies’ night changed big time! The only free ones last night were the plain ones. They were SO STRONG! The ones before were not strong at all, just mainly fruity. These were too strong! We weren’t big fans and poor Steve ended up getting what we didn’t like. So he ended up getting free drinks at ladies’ night! (I don’t plan to go back there anymore…I was sooooo disappointed in this change!)
Last night, I sent breakfast foods back to their apartment with them so they wouldn’t come here for breakfast. Cheryl was in on my plan, so helped me pull it off and Vicki didn’t suspect anything! Today is her birthday and I made her a cake this morning for a surprise!!! It was a devil’s food cake and had dark chocolate icing. YUM!!! We LOVE dark chocolate icing! They came over around 11:00 for lunch because we had to be ready to go soon after Phillip got home at 11:30. The boys had to be at the dive place at 12:45 for their 1:00 dive! We dropped them off and then drove to Orient Beach. I took a couple wrong turns (OOPS) but we eventually got there! It’s probably the most popular beach on the island. It was really crowded! They have tons of things to do there…parasailing, jet skiis to rent, banana boats, and huge trampolines in the water! Phillip and I hope to do all that while we’re here! Cheryl, Vicki, and I just walked around though. It was neat to see it all!
Then we went back to Grand Case (which is about 2 blocks from the dive shop) and snorkeled for sea glass again! So much fun!!!! Vicki also found a really pretty shell there! We got super hot and around 4:00 we went to Zen It (a restaurant), ordered sodas, and enjoyed the shade and the breeze! We waited there till around 4:45 when they returned. They had a lot of fun and Phillip really enjoyed trying out the camera that we bought in April. It has a waterproof case and one of the reasons he really wanted it was for scuba diving! He got some AMAZING pictures! Very cool!!!!
We went to McDonalds for dinner. We were so excited about their happy meals! They have TY beanie babies and we loved 2 of them! There’s a Ronald McDonald and a Grimace! We got the Ronald McDonald one last time and got the Grimace one tonight! Sweet!!!! They are so cute! Then we came back for cake! It was yummy! We had to keep it in the frig today because the icing was melting even with the airco on! (You can see in the pic where it was already melting this morning!) Phillip’s parents brought us a thermometer to keep in our apartment. To give you guys an idea of our normal temps here, WITH the airco on, it’s around 81 degrees inside! Without it, it’s around 86-88 degrees in the apartment! So there’s no way the cake would have survived in here with no airco this afternoon! Plus, our frig is so tiny, there’s no way it would fit…so we walked over to their apartment and put it in their frig. On the way over, everyone was staring at the cake. Vicki said even the people who drove past, stared at it! One guy even asked if he could have a piece! Too funny!
Everyone went to bed early tonight! Phillip and Steve were both about to fall asleep sitting up this evening! Scuba diving really wore them out! Oh, they got T-shirts today too…I took pics because they’re really neat looking!!!!! (That’s a dive flag on the sleeve.)
I painted my toenails the other night with the new bright yellow OPI polish! I LOVE it! Today, I wore a yellow swimsuit and my bright yellow cover up/dress. It was fun! They said my toenails look like sunshine! Hehehe!
yeah i'm with you on the hot apartment. i've got a big a/c unit in the living/dining room in the front that keeps that half cool, but the bedroom hasn't gone below 80 degrees so far. i'm finding it's ok as long as i don't move... and if it's 90 degrees outside, it's going to be about 84 in!
