Buying Used Things

I finally slept over 6 hours last night, so was excited about that! I’ve been coughing more today again though, so just don’t know if the meds are really working or not…we’ll see how tonight goes!

The 5th semester spouses are starting to post all of the things on the spouses’ website that they want to sell before they leave! This is a great way to get some things used and not pay as much! You just post a reply saying what you want and the stuff goes to whoever claims it first. Then they tell you when/where to meet them. Last week, we claimed a big fan. We have one big one, but another sure will be nice during the summer! Maybe I can set it up in the kitchen…it gets so hot in there washing dishes! We also claimed a small cookie sheet (since ours doesn’t fit in the oven very well and I cannot find a smaller one in the stores), a casserole dish, and hair trimmers…the kind guys use to buzz their hair short. So many of the guys here do this since it’s hot and nice to have super short hair here anyway. Phillip is really excited to get this! We won’t get those things till April though, right before they move away. Today, there were more postings and we were able to claim several 2nd semester books that Phillip will need for the summer classes. That will save us a lot of money, so we are very excited about it!!! We are meeting the people on Thursday to pick up the books.

There is this thing on Facebook where people can post events, and then you can click on it to show that you plan to attend. We signed up today to attend a party on Friday! It is at some students’ house, but they got Heineken to sponsor it (because of the Heineken Regatta!) They are going to have lots of free beer! Over 100 people have already RSVP’d for it! It’s on the beach, so will be a huge beach party, with a bonfire even. The Heineken Regatta races past their house 4 times during the day Friday! It will be fun to at least go and check out. Friday night, there are supposed to be NFL football players, an actor from the Sopranos, and a Victoria Secret model at the nightclub, Tantra. Pretty funny!!! We’re also very excited about the boat trip Saturday morning, following the Heineken Regatta boats in the race!!! That should be quite an experience!!!
